Arthritis is one of the most common causes of joint pain and stiffness we see at Dalton Physiotherapy. Whether it’s your knees, hips, hands, or spine, arthritis can make everyday activities more difficult. But the good news is that with the right treatment and movement plan, you can stay active and keep your pain under control.

Arthritis is a general term that refers to inflammation of the joints. The two most common types are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Osteoarthritis is a condition where the protective layer of cartilage at the end of your bones breaks down, causing pain, swelling and problems moving the joint. Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune condition which the body’s own immune system attacks the joint and cartilage leading to inflammation, pain and joint damage.

Arthritis is a long-term condition, therefore at Dalton Physiotherapy we take a holistic approach to assessment and management of your condition. Our goal is to help you control pain, improve your function and help you find safe, joint-friendly ways to staying active and long-term management of your arthritis. Treatment plans are tailored to you and may include:
